Our History
Our origins
Carbon traces back to 2017 in London, where our founder saw a competitive war for technology talent fiercely heating up. Startup and technology companies in Western cities were struggling to hire and retain the talent needed to build category-defining products.
Our goal
We founded Carbon with the intention of unlocking new talent pools in nearshore markets needed to fuel innovation back home. As early pioneers in the Future of Work, Carbon realised the impressive potential of building distributed teams in Central & Eastern Europe and beyond.
Regional HQ in Bucharest
Carbon set up its regional HQ in Bucharest, Romania and acted as the go-to local hiring partner for several global companies setting up engineering teams in the country, including UiPath, ING Bank and Electronic Arts.

Expansion to Warsaw
Carbon expands to Warsaw, growing its network of Eastern European product & engineering talent to cover the largest talent market in the region.
Development center in Cairo
In search of continually providing better value to innovators back home, Carbon set up a strategic development center in Cairo, unlocking access to North Africa’s most skilled software engineers through a fully-managed Employer of Record service.
